But someone who's played FL will "holy shit is that really-" at the very least, and might be inclined to nope right the fuck out of the port. The conversation stands on its own, highlighting elements of the lore you've been learning up to that point, and is interesting all by itself. A thing that you meet in the corner of a bar in a port called Lustrum has a couple of paragraphs and a small repeatable item turn-in. One conversation off the top of my head in Skies reallly stands out in this regard.

So when you go around the High Wilderness in Skies learning about the judgements and such, you're getting a self contained story, but it overlaps many other things you may've read about (or even participated in) in its predecessors. Like, I could tell you that London was stolen by space bats and hidden in a cave, and that's an accurate premise for the rest of the game(s), but you could fill the gaps with whole novels of lore and have plenty of room for sequels. The Fallen London setting is built on mysteries and deep lore. Yeah, no choice but to turn the gamepad off then. I don't quite like that, but on the flipside making stuff can be more satisfying. In my head I was using Terraria as a comparison and yeah, sounds quite a bit more tedious. I assume you can also fly and stuff? Can you change the drop rate of materials? Well that specific example would be no fun, but I get your point. I doubt I'd be bothered by it here, lest it be related to "grind" or something.īoth always looked pretty, quaint enough for my taste.Īh. Hm, so, basically the pacing of the game? In general I've noticed that I've rarely had issues with the pace being too slow in a game or movie, so most things are just fine for my taste. So, if it isn't mandatory and won't help the story, why would you say you'd get more? What does it provide? So talk about them if you want, but don't overdo it since you already have other generals for that. We mostly discuss games that are not popular enough for their own threads, however, all indie games are allowed. >Can I talk about games that already have a general?
